AIM servers have limited the rate at which you may send data to them, When exceeding this limit, the connection is closed. Some Trillian users are affected by this, especially those with a large number of contacts. A preliminary patch has been made available. You should only use it if you experience connection issues with AIM. The patch only works for Trillian 3.1.
Should further testing show that this solves the issue, a general update will be made available. Problem with the patch should be reported in the official forums. The following steps are required to install the patch:
- Shutdown Trillian
- Download the patch from http://obscurity.ceruleanstudios.com/~smw/aim.dl and copy it to your Trillian folder, replacing the existing file. Do not keep a backup of the old file in the same folder.
