Security Update: Trillian 3.1.12 released

Trillian 3.1.12 has been released to address security problems with AIM and loading of images. The new version also improves the stability of the MSN plugin. Existing Trillian users should receive the update automatically. Updating to Trillian 3.1.12 is strongly recommended.

Security Update: Trillian 3.1.10 released

In response to three security issues found by the Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) project, Ceruleanstudios released Trillian version 3.1.10.0. All users should update to the new version.

Trillian 3.1.9.0 released

Trillian 3.1.9.0 has been released to address Yahoo login problems. The issues are caused by changes to the Yahoo servers. However, these changes have been only temporary. Ceruleanstudios recommends an update to Trillian 3.1.9.0 anyway as it contains a fix to protect against similar issues.

Trillian 3.1.8.0 released

Trillian 3.1.8.0 has been released in response to some issues with Yahoo Offline messages and a problem with the MSN plugin. Both errors could crash Trillian.

Security update: Trillian 3.1.7.0 released

In response to a security vulnerability  in the handling of aim:// links, Ceruleanstudios released Trillian 3.1.7.0. The version does not contain any new features but an update is highly recommended to fix the security issue. Existing users should get the update via the auto update feature.

Security update: Trillian 3.1.6.0 released

In response to a security vulnerability reported by iDefense Labs, Ceruleanstudios released Trillian 3.1.6.0 as a full download and via the auto-update feature.

Trillian 3.1.5.1 released

Ceruleanstudios released an update to the Trillian 3.1 version that fixes several security issues.

Trillian-Messenger.net goes live

Trillian-Messenger.net finally goes live. It is based on the german Trillian site Trillian-Messenger.de which serves the german Trillian community since 2002.

New and upcoming Trillian Astra features

Warning: Illegal Astra version with trojan horse

First illegal copies of Trillian Astra circulate on the Internet. Some of them seem to be infected with a trojan horse. Ceruleanstudios warnsnot to install these illegal copies.

Friday is Astra Update Day

Friday has been announced as a regular Astra update day. New builds will always be distributed on friday, information about it will usually be made available one day in advance.

The new update cycle starts today with the release of build number 26. It contains a total of 47 bug fixes in all areas of the software. New testers got access to the software as well. As part of the friday update cycle, server maintenance can cause short connection interruptions.

Web-based Trillian Express presented

The group of Trillian Astra alpha testers is slowly increased. The first users that signed up for the test got access to the program. More testers are added gradually. The new Trillian Express was presented along with the opening of the test group. It is a web-based messenger that allows to use Trillian via a browser.

Ceruleanstudios published a screenshot of another Trillian Astra skin. It is called Cobalt and provides a simple and minimalistic design. It therefore uses up very little screen space. This is also supported by a new feature that adjusts the size of the contact list to the number of contacts.

Extended Astra alpha test starts in January

The extended Astra alpha test will start in the first week of January. The developers decided to avoid a start during the holiday season, as they might not be able to react quickly to bug reports and problems.
